Court, Federation Publicize Top Cases Involving Protection of Minors' Rights

China's Supreme People's Court and the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) recently released the list of top 10 cases, in which minors involved received legal assistance from people's courts and women's federations, at all levels across the country.

Selection of the cases highlighted the achievements of the courts and the federations in working together to protect minors' rights and interests during the past several years. The courts and the federations' experiences in providing legal assistance to minors (in need) may help guide other legal institutions and social organizations, especially as they handle cases involving infringements of minors' rights and interests. Through the cases, one may realize the Party (Communist Party of China) and the State have great concern for minors, and that people from all segments of society, across the country, have attached great importance to helping and caring for minors.

An official of ACWF's Legal Department recently told media the federation's cadres have helped and cared for minors in need, including those who have experienced sexual assault and/or domestic violence. The official also said the cadres have offered guidance to workers with the women's federations, at the grassroots level across the country, so they can better help minors solve difficulties in their lives.
